We are happy to announce that we will be hosting Basic and Intermediate Training Leaders of Cadets (TLC) alongside Minnesota Leadership Academy (MLA) this fall!
If you are in need of TLC for your Cadet Programs specialty track, please take advantage of this outstanding opportunity to take the class while also getting to observe a fantastic cadet activity in action!
Dates:
19-20 Oct - Basic TLC
20-21 Oct - Intermediate TLC
Location: Camp Ripley in Little Falls, MN
Cost: FREE
(this course does not include meals)
Uniform: Blues, ABUs, or corporate polo
This TLC will be structured so that students can take 1-2 hours of coursework at a time. In-between classes, you will get the opportunity to observe the various MLA Cadet schools.
Basic TLC Schedule:
Thursday 19 Oct - Classes will start in the morning (~8am) and will be spread out in 1-2 hour blocks throughout the day
Friday 20 Oct - Morning only, class will conclude by noon
Intermediate TLC Schedule:
Friday 20 Oct - Class will begin around 3pm and conclude around 8pm
Saturday 21 Oct - Classes spread out in 1-2 hour blocks throughout the day (class will conclude around 7pm)
FAQ:
What if I'm a Senior Member staffing MLA?
Please register! We are working closely with the MLA School Directors to ensure that the TLC classes do not disrupt or greatly conflict with the school schedules. You will be able to staff MLA and take TLC concurrently. (Your meals will be paid for via the MLA budget)
What if I'm a Senior Member not staffing MLA?
Please attend! You will have a great opportunity to enhance your learning by attending TLC and also get to observe part of a major cadet activity. This will be an experience to not only learn about cadet activities in a classroom, but be able to witness one first-hand!
Do I have to stay overnight?
Ideally, yes. If you are not within commuting-distance of Camp Ripley, we recommend that you stay overnight as these courses will cross two days.
What are the housing options?
If you are staffing MLA, your housing will be coordinated via the MLA staff.
If you are not staffing MLA, here are your options:
- Free housing - BOQ (bring your own linens, sheets, blankets, toiletries, etc)
- Paid housing ~$35/night - MSQ (hotel room)
